Why Homeopathy?
Are you one of the millions suffering with anxieties, depression, stress, sleepless nights? I personally know many people who are taking prescription medications for their anxiety, depression, to sleep better, and for a lot of other maladies. It’s interesting to me that they have to keep taking these medicines or they get depressed or anxious all over again. Did they really get better? Unless they took other measures, many of them did not. Were they less anxious and depressed? Not really. They could get through the day without much incident, but overall, they were not themselves, they were not happy, and most importantly, they were not healthy.
Let me explain the difference between an allopathic treatment and a homeopathic treatment. This is key to understanding the homeopathic approach and how it works.
Allopathy means “other “suffering”. This means there is no correlation between what you are suffering from and the medication you are given, but for unknown reason it may alleviate the unwanted symptoms and may cause other unwanted symptoms (aka side effects). Other medicines may be antipathic meaning “opposite suffering”. An example of this is giving a laxative for constipation. In either of these cases, the body is given something to either perform a function (soften the stool), or inhibit serotonin uptake. So a medicine is given to do something that a healthy body normally does. This may cause your body to say – “Whoa, what just happened?” When you play with your body like that, it makes it even more difficult for your body to find its own homeostasis, its own balance.
Homeopathy is different in that it gives your body information it needs to take over and balance itself. In acute cases with healthy people, this can happen very quickly. In chronic cases where we are treating constitutionally, a lot has happened to get to this place, so the body will need some time to re-order itself. But when it is done, it doesn’t need “more drugs” to keep it re-ordered or to counteract unwanted side effects. We are bombarded today with messages about “all natural” treatments, “holistic care”, the body can heal itself. Many people are using those buzz words to sell their products and services. There is nothing wrong with all natural – vitamins, herbs, juices, etc. It is extremely important for your body to have vital nutrition. This does not necessarily mean holistic. There are many practitioners that claim to be holistic as they address all of your parts often with separate treatments. Again, you are not being treated as one unit if you take x to address your blood pressure, y to increase your thyroid output, and an herbal remedy for depression.
Holistic means treating the whole – the whole of you. This means considering your mental, emotional and physical planes, all of which make up you and all of which affect your health. Homeopathy is truly holistic and treats the whole of you, not just one part.
Bottom line: Without our health, we are trapped and can get into a vicious cycle of disease at the mental, emotional, and physical levels. When we treat health as the freedom that it is, we want to recover and maintain our health so we have the freedom again to be our best selves.
Homeopathy: 1. Has no side effects* 2. Is holistic in approach and cure (mental, emotional, and physical) 3. Works on resolving the root of the problem, not just the symptoms 4. Respects the wisdom of the body 5. Uses nano doses with powerful results 6. Works by subtle, gentle, curative action 7. Is suitable for pregnant women 8. Is non-toxic, does not interact with any conventional drugs 9. Is suitable for young, old, and all ages in between 10. Creates no drug dependency 11. Can be used in first aid, acute, and chronic situations, as well as for better overall health *Conventional drugs are thought to have side effects, when in reality all drugs have are effects. What we know as side effects are the possible effects of the drugs that aren’t wanted. Many drugs have been tested for one thing and produced effects that makers went on to test to use the drug for a totally different effect.
